Message Alerts are short text messages that are sent by SelectWave Merchants to a Member's cell phone or e-mail address.
The body of these messages is limited to 110 characters. The intent is to provide Members with timely information
about products and services that they deem important.
Within a Member's profile, he is free to pick the Merchants, products and services along with the number of
Message Alerts he would like to receive. Of course a Member is free to make changes to the profile at any time.
Members have the flexibility to receive Message Alerts on any of their e-mail addresses and on text enabled
cell phones (click here to test your phone for Message Alerts).
Some Members may elect to have Message Alerts that are sent during the weekday to be delivered to
their office e-mail and to their cell phone during the evening.
While other Members may elect to receive Message Alerts only on the weekends.
When they go on vacation or they want to temporarily stop receiving Message Alerts,
Members can simply modify their profile. |

Merchants can send a variety of Message Alerts.
For example, they may notify you when a shipment of a new product arrives or when that video
tape that you've waiting for arrives back at the neighborhood rental store. |
Merchants may also send Message Alert-coupons.
For example: "Show this Message Alert for a free large pizza when you buy a large pizza at PizzaMan..."
Members have the benefit of only receiving the Message Alerts that they're interested in.
One Member may only want Message Alerts for weekend tee times and the results of the golf tournament
that he just played in at his favorite golf course while another Member is interested in movie
listings and times.
 |
Merchants can also contact employees through Message Alerts.
For example, a distribution list that includes only employees can be created that would allows
Merchants to enter one message and quickly send it to employees.
For example, if the resturant gets busy the manager can type in a Message Alert that
asks the on-call waiters to report to work.
